Re: Introduce Yourself
Ah. The story behind the puns is that when I first started on the "other forum" I stated an opinion which some people didn't agree with. Nothing serious mind, but something like which bar is the best for late night food.
Everyone should have an opinion and I fully encourage that, but the mods didn't like mine and turned on me which I felt was way below the belt. From that day on, I decided to only make dumb arse jokes even though I have been repeated told to make a more meaning contribution to the site.
Oh the irony…..

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes

I didn't mind the Crab's input on 440, and will even admit to having one or two chuckles - controlled, quiet chuckles, but chuckles none-the-less.
Re: Introduce Yourself
Well -- I am going to give this forum a shot. Same "handle" as the other although never a big poster there (100 - 150 or so).
Me? Yank. Lived and worked in SEA for about 20 years. Considering early retirement gigs and wound up here last year because i wanted to check it out having never had reason to come. Liked it enough I came back a few times and then decided to stay a year. Visa up in August -- considering whether to renew or not.
Good to see you all.
Nice Positive Vibe here.
Cheers!

Gidday
Kiwi living in London 9 years now. Similar handle on 440 and SVO, infrequent (15?) poster since 2008. Regular reader (everyday) of 440, SVO and now CEO.
Been to Cambodia 4 time since 2005, PP, SR and SV. Back for a week Jan 2014.
Have a few questions I will be asking in the coming weeks, hoping for some good responses. To be fair, I never got shit on 440, but can see how those with thin skin or delicate sensibilities may have been surprised. My motto (as a lifelong sarcastic bastard) is 'if you can't take it don't give it'.
Enjoying the new forum very much, keep up the good work and best of luck
