Introduce Yourself
Re: Introduce Yourself
Howdy. I'm Charlie from Texas. I just want to start out by saying, I am so pleased to find this website, and see an old school style forum which I am so used to from the early days of the internet! I'm very glad it's NOT on Facebook! Bravo and cheers to everyone responsible for and helping with this website and forum! I'll buy you a drink for sure.
I lived and worked in China teaching English for almost a decade. Now planning on doing the same in Cambodia, where I have visited before, about a decade ago, however briefly. I've got a friend already in Siem Reap and my research and memory leads me to believe that's the place for me, but I'll be sure to go around and get a feel for other places before settling.
I do pretty decent photography, for anyone curious, just find me on Instagram (or any social media really) as "phlezk"
Just in case anyone wants anything from the USA, I might auction off space in my luggage to the highest bidder, lmao. ETA: after the April 2024 total solar eclipse happens. It's an amazing event I cannot miss. I'm basically planning my life around it at this point. (nerd alert lol)
Peace and cheers. Oh BTW I've also been to 20 countries!

Welcome aboard! Are you going to try to teach in Siem Reap or head to Phnom Penh? Either way, good luck landing a job quickly!phlezk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 16, 2023 8:30 am Howdy. I'm Charlie from Texas. Don't do that, it's bad luck. The last newbie poster who joined a Cambodia expat forum and generously offered to act as a benevolent mule was "thelazymonk."
He got hooked on the meth soon after arrival and was dead within a few weeks.

lmfao, no worries. Also, for future reference, since my statement ended in a common humorous acronym, the intent could be assumed as humor or a joke. cheers!BaltimoreJack wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 6:39 amDon't do that, it's bad luck. Re: Introduce Yourself
I'll let the salary offered and the cost of living dictate that, but I am leaning towards SR. As long as I get one within two months, I suppose, should be alright! (due to visa policy, of course)General Mackevili wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 6:03 amWelcome aboard! Are you going to try to teach in Siem Reap or head to Phnom Penh? Re: Introduce Yourself
haha yeah, bad joke on my end. I'd definitely not bring anything organic or medicinal. and I suppose anything "worthy" would be too expensive for anyone to entrust me with, since we're strangers. Maybe I'll just ask my friend who lives in SR what he wants, and just let him decide.pissontheroof wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 8:26 ambut i need some medicinal " stuff " , its all legal now , as long as he is coming / offeringBaltimoreJack wrote: ↑Thu Aug 17, 2023 6:39 amDon't do that, it's bad luck. I've brought many things over the ocean for people, but they were all friends and I did it freely, so, lol, yeah. Disregard my idea, hehe.
Cheers!

Re: Introduce Yourself
Such a simple easy ask / task
BUT A BIG FAT NO , form you OK
NEVER MIND , I GET IT ONE WAY OR THE OTHER AND CAN AFFORD THE EXPENSES
sorry that thing got stuck , I guess a new pink fluorescent bong is definitely out of the answer then
I got one now I love but it’s getting grody , I was hoping the world would end or anything before I clean it up
a replacement would be luxurious for me , anything unavailable here , there used to be a place to get bongs
I like thai bongs , not cambrodian bongs .. in sihanoukville but that was yesturdday , and yesturdday is gone .
P.s. realistic plastic snakes come in handy to scare monkeys

I do like bongs. Let's see.
Re: Introduce Yourself
Greetings all,
I'm an American expat living in Bangkok for the last 10+ years.
As many of you might know, rumor has it that they might be requiring all retirees to purchase Thai medical insurance. Since I have had international health insurance since the time I retired and am over 65, it would be a deal breaker for me.
As such, I have been researching Cambodia, specifically PP, as a place of interest for me to live.
Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Regards,
Tommy
