Introduce Yourself

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Hi all. Same Ira as per 440. I came to PP backpacking 3 years ago. Had to cut my trip short as I had to attend a funeral back in Blighty. Returned to PP after a few months sorting stuff out to volunteer for an NGO. That didn't work out as planned as I quickly learnt what a devious bunch of criminals they are so moved to teaching for a few years. Met my wife 18 months ago through a student at the school was working at. We caused a bit of an upset in her family when we bought a backpack hostel as we were living together but not married but they were cool after my mother, who came her for a holiday, met hers. They are waiting for the wedding of course and once the house is built and the 2nd business venture we are looking into takes off maybe we'll get hitched.

I've never met anyone from these forums but we will be attending both meet-ups so that should change soon.

Hey, Ira! Glad you found your way over!

And thanks for using the same nickname, it keeps things so simple! (I have no room to speak though, LoL.)

Great intro by the way. :good:

Welcome aboard! !

Don't worry about that, the forum is for anyone who's interested in Cambodia, even if you live on the moon.

There is a war between the rich and poor,
a war between the man and the woman.
There is a war between the ones who say there is a war
and the ones who say there isn't.
Why don't you come on back to the war, that's right, get in it,
why don't you come on back to the war, it's just beginning.

Well I live here with a woman and a child,
the situation makes me kind of nervous.
Yes, I rise up from her arms, she says "I guess you call this love";
I call it service.

Why don't you come on back to the war, don't be a tourist,
why don't you come on back to the war, before it hurts us,
why don't you come on back to the war, let's all get nervous.

You cannot stand what I've become,
you much prefer the gentleman I was before.
I was so easy to defeat, I was so easy to control,
I didn't even know there was a war.

Why don't you come on back to the war, don't be embarrassed,
why don't you come on back to the war, you can still get married.

There is a war between the rich and poor,
a war between the man and the woman.
There is a war between the left and right,
a war between the black and white,
a war between the odd and the even.

Why don't you come on back to the war, pick up your tiny burden,
why don't you come on back to the war, let's all get even,
why don't you come on back to the war, can't you hear me speaking?
