Introduce Yourself

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Hey board I'm debating on relocating to cambodia sometime this year. I currently live in the mekong delta and I've previously been to Cambodia once but only on a layover. I'm just here to find out a few things about life in cambodia.

I got divorced in 2019, been suicidal the whole 2020 and now... 2021, I'm still here. With a new perspective on things, I'm planning to go somewhere in Southeast Asia when things clear out and enjoy my life. No. 1 choice is Cambodia, no. 2 is Thailand and no. 3 is Vietnam. I hope all of you are doing well. :hattip:

Welcome.
SE Asia isn’t a place to come if you’ve had or have suicidal thoughts. Get help at home then travel.

on the contrary, it sounds like he needs something to do/somewhere to go to take his mind of this failed marriage, not all people that have had suicidal thoughts have a mental illness that follows them around, 2020 was a rough year for a lot of people not the best time to suddenly find your self alone and isolated

Anyone who has suicidal thoughts have some kind of mental imbalance. To what degree that is isn’t for us to surmise over the Internet.
Having worked in mental health, as a volunteer admittedly, I saw first hand how simple “feeling low” manifests itself over a matter of months. It’s not usually a particular experience that triggers it but tips the person over the edge.

Going to a place with cheap booze and cheap plentiful supply of drugs and, this is the main issue, no support isn’t advised.
Just my 2p worth.
