Welcome to CEO, Zhivago, and we always appreciate such a nice and detailed introduction.
It seems you have some questions in there, so I also suggest you start a new topic asking those same questions, that we will be glad to help you with.
Have fun on here!

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello all,
I've been registered on here for a while, but figured it's high time I introduced myself! I've previously lived in Otres Village near Sihanoukville and I'm one of the many who've moved out due to all the construction and other bedlam and nonsense going on there. They are still some nice souls in the village though, hanging on despite everything.
I've been in Phnom Penh since mid-September and I'm absolutely loving it here. People are friendly, both locals and foreigners alike and I think I'll be around for a few more years to come at the very least. My newly-found local places to enjoy a drink include Mini Banana, The Garage, Sundance, Botanico for the quiz on Tuesdays and a couple of other spots.
I'm one of the many teachers out here and I've just started work at one of the universities. So yeah, if you see a big guy from Manchester, late 30's, bad fashion sense, called Daniel, feel free to say hello to me!
Great service here on CEO for keeping up with the local news - I do enjoy the dry wit on the boards too! Thank you
All best wishes,
Daniel - (sort of)

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello I just signed up. Robins is an acronym for Rob or Robert in Sattahip, Thailand. I want to explore Cambodia more and have become weary of the anti-foreigner sentiment in Thailand. Though I have sufficient income to easily meet Thailand's income requirements, today the American Embassy announced it will no longer do income verification letters of (of course) there are a 1000 different stories about what proof of income Thailand is going to require to renew a retirement visa. I hope to learn more about Cambodia both as a place to visit and as a possible escape should Thailand become unsustainable. I was a police officer for 20 years, don't worry I'm not an asshole and an attorney after that until I retired 12 years ago (at age 48) and moved to Thailand.
I noticed there is already a member named Robin, sorry for the similarity in the name I chose, if it causes a problem or confusion I can change my online name.
Anyway Hello and I hope to learn from and enjoy this website. Thank you.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Australian here, lived in PP for two years, went back to australia for a year, now I am back working in Sihanoukville for the last 2 months.I am currently working for a Malaysian company. Not sure if I will stay long term, sihanoukville is a challenging place at the moment, but also has some opportunity in the right industries.

British/American approaching the magic age where I can put my feet up and watch the clouds drift by. Forces background but after several holidays in Asia have decided on Cambodia, preferably out in the country somewhere.
All members are equal but some members are more equal than others

Re: Introduce Yourself
Thinking of retiring with my Khmer Srey, far away from most on this board. I like vodka and wake up to beer. OK a little more. Born NYC, grew up in the San Francisco bay area. Part of the tech boom, and bust. Housing boom, and bust. The Great Recession and all that goes with it. Divorced after 20 years, dating a Khmer lady that has been in the states for 4 years. Done some pretty f'd up things but i'm trying to right the ship. Want to retire in her motherland bc the usa is going straight to the crapper and will be a socialist hellhole soon.
