Introduce Yourself

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Hi to the forum.

I'm a half Cambo, half Aussie writer living in Sydney.

I plan to travel to Phnom Penh later in the year to finish writing a book loosely based on my Cambodian father. Back in the days of UNTAC my Dad ran for parliament, started his own party, got his ass kicked (in the election and life in general).

I'm not at all close to my Cambodian family so I've joined the forum to learn everything I can before I go--and maybe make some contacts and friends for when I get to PP.

Hi Hapa,, Welcome to CEO forum. I hope you give us a preview of your book and let us know when it is published, sounds like the story of your father would be very interesting.

Also where is he now and has he been back to Cambodia ?
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

He lived between Melbourne, PP and the Gold Coast until he died. He had a little bit of a name back in his day. I plan to post a thread sometime soon on the small chance someone here knew him or knew someone who did.

This is him.
