info for a couple of italian expat

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

info for a couple of italian expat

Post by Glauco83 »

Hi!!
i will relocate in cambodia in January.
I have a lot of question for u... :D
Is it better SR or Sihankouville for open a guest house?
Can u give me an idea of the occupancy rate in lower season in sr and in Sihankouville? i know that all hotel are different, but it's only to have an idea.
In sihankouville what do you think is the correct rent/lease for a Guest house of 15 rooms, close to the beach but no on the beach?
Last question: how much build a bungalow with bathroom? If i take a land in lease, i must wait a lot of time for a approved project?
Thanks and sorry for tne number of question.... :D

Stay for at least a year before investing in anything. Seriously.

You should open a guesthouse in every village in the country. Tourism is booming and there aren't a hundred million idiots like you looking to cash in at all. Honest, guv.

In fact if you send me $150,000 in unmarked bills I will ensure that one is waiting for you to walk into when you arrive. How much fairer could it be than that? If you like I will also write a promise on a toy giraffe that your idea will be really profitable in the long-term and there will be no extra charge for the giraffe guarantee.

It depends on your definition of ' big'.

Hitler started a ' little war' for example.

Sadly, you need the giraffe. The best bit of business advice anyone will ever give you is this; "If you are asking strangers on the internet whether you should go into a certain type of business or where you should locate that business... you are not ready to go into business in this field. Probably not ever unless you get a job in the trade and learn it well enough that you can answer those questions yourself or identify a much more trustworthy person (than a bunch of randoms online) to give you that advice."
