Huge storm

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Huge storm

Post by vladimir »

Hearing rumours of cyclone Damray, biggest storm in 100 years, set to hit Cambodia 10am tomorrow, coming from Vietnam. Anyone else heard anything? All Metfone staff in Takeo been alerted...

Thanks for the info guys. Hadn't heard anything.
Rain is forecast for PP and SHV, but doesn't look too bad, except its not great for the water festival in PP, or for the holiday crowds on the coast.
Sunday will be the worst.

Yes I am. But no strong wind warnings from what I can see. 19kph for PP. But there will be rain and possibly flooding.
Hopefully (for us) it will burn out overland in Vietnam before it gets here.

I usually take weather forecasts with a pinch of salt. But I have found here they are pretty accurate.

It's been nice and cool and breezy for the past few days, I like winters here. I was only at the Water Festival briefly yesterday.
It's not the same crowd who turned up with 5000 Riel in their pocket and slept under a bush in a park anymore.
The country bumpkins are well-dressed and staying in guesthouses these days. Some of them scrub up quite nicely. 8-)
Silence, exile, and cunning.
