How do you get around town?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I wear sneakers and helmet when using a motodop, so using the tuk tuk app frees me up from carrying the helmet around at least. And I caught a bus recently too, which I might do more often now.
Love Uber! Reliable, wait time no more than 5 min (i guess depends on location), attached my credit card to Uber account and don't have to worry about small change or having enough cash when i get too smashed Image. Considerably cheaper than tutkuks (all my rides have been under 5 bucks), safe late at night and airconned. After attaching my card to the account i had like 10 free rides.
Got passapp too, certainly very cheap, use them for short distances when it's a bit too far to walk, but too close to get uber.

I used to ride my moto wasted regularly just because i hate bickering with tuktuk drivers, so I think these apps extending my life expectancy quite significantly

Before you criticise someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticise them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes

Walk up to 3 ks usually.
Motto if in a hurry or tuk tuk.
Use Passapp but you need to know where you are going to direct most of the time.
Would not ride a motto myself as not aggressive enough and have no desire to own a car.
Bus or train depending where I want to go within Cambodia.

The Spanish apparently have this covered as " everyone knows the Spanish do magic and fly around on broomsticks.", apparently.

I have found that some of the Uber drivers in Cambodia don't believe the "it will be charged to my credit card I don't owe you any money" explanation.

Never had an issue with that myself, I always wait for the confirmation of the finished trip. It shows right on their app if it was cc or if there is cash owing afterwards.

I am almost feeling sorry for tuk tuks. If you pay $1 from 51 to riverside how much do you save waiting for "an app" to turn up? if your negotiating skill are good its going to be $1.50. Average $20. Sumbass fesh of the boat tourist $3-$5. For longer regular trips they make sense, saves me enough for 2 beers going into town and back, but for short hops I have yet to be convinced.
