Re: How well we know each other
This thread sort of reminds me of the days we all communicated by Telex.
All communications were brief and concise and each of us formed mental images of either the sender or the recipient of many messages over a short period of time.
Then, in our professional duties we traveled internationally and met the person at "the other end" and how wrong we were in our mental image of that person in most cases.
Now, of course, with countless apps giving us video face to face communications we all know each other warts and all.
Were the old days better? Not sure. At least there was some mystique.
Personally, I am very grateful for my cheap and old smart phone and its many capabilities.
Working an old Kleinschmidt (sp ?) Telex and re-routing its tapes was a pain in the backside but there again this point to point communication was secure and free of so many of today's online potential problems.
One moves with the times and the technology. Thank god they come with a 5 year old in each box to take care of the so called plug and play connectivity problems.

Re: How well we know each other
Somewhat related to communication...I walked into a bar once with about a hundred people crammed into it - from the outside it looked like quite a party with people gesticulating like crazy, exaggerated facial expressions etc. I opened the door to almost silence as I'd entered a hearing impaired booze-up.
Pissed deaf people slurring their sign language is a bit of a giggle.

Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

See, what do I know!! My interpretations are not always correct. I do tend to wear rose coloured glasses.
Im sure that there are many creepy people hiding out incognito for one reason or another.
My friends tell me Im way too trusting.
I have always lived by the creed, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
Treat people with dignity and respect, usually you get it back.
My entire life can be summed up in one sentence:
"Well that didnt go as planned".
"Well that didnt go as planned".
