How to not completely lose your mind in Cambodia.
Im preparing for a trip to SR and am quite paranoid of losing my head, last time i almost went completely fucking insane but had a hell of a good time too.
Rumour was the gas in the tap beer could be the cause of expats and backpackers to go batshit crazy but it could also be the abundance of cheap hard drugs and poverty fucking with peoples heads.

Been here for 6 years and have yet to lose my mind. I don't do drugs, never had a problem with draft beer and I do not seem too much poverty.....

Lived in Phnom Penh and visited Cambodia 10-15 times for long stays. No mind-losing experiences. Just getting older. And never suffered from attention whoring either.

I've heard that people who move to Malaysia can lose their mind and confuse Siem Reap with Malaysia.

i think SR is quite sophisticated compared to other parts of cambodia tbh, the "posh end" as we would call it in england, i did live in temple town when i first came here for a while, i had a mrs there for about 8 months, but moving down here to Shitsville i have a few times over the past few years slipped into alcoholic ways of drinking heavily every night, where you cant remember your last sober night etc, it is hard being a lad in his twenties and so much temptation around but im a lot more settled in myself now, a lot more focused on my life and time here

on that note you cant say a shitload of barangs dont go completely off the rails in the kingdom no matter where they are based.
if you dont agree with that then i dont think you have really seen the place or just havent seen the newsworthy section.
