How to Help Lone, Lost Western Woman in Phnom Penh ?

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News: A Cambodian spotted an unidentified western woman carrying a sign asking for help at the Teppon traffic light in Phnom Penh, and wonders how he or she could help.
Image
According to social media, a page named RCCAMBODIA posted, "I saw her standing on the crosswalk at Teppon traffic light near the gas station, she crossed with the green light and then she went back to the side of the road for the red light. She carried a sign which was written in Khmer :"I travel without money and have no place to go".

She was looking beautiful and dressed nicely, but I don't know what her problem was. I was worried about this female foreigner that I met, so I gave her 5 USD because I felt pity for her. I don't know how else to help her. Please, the police should find out what her problem is and help this woman. "

The first step would be to talk to her, and ask her about her situation. After she has told you about her situation, discuss what is best for her future.

Sometimes when you talk to people you find out things are quite different to what you had expected.

I don't know if the person who met her speaks English.

I think you would all agree, it would most likely be impossible for her to return to her home country at present.

Does anyone know if she is at the same place often. or moves around a lot.

Is there anyone on this forum who knows where she is? If she is is easy to track down, send me a personal message where she can be found.

If anyone gets her phone number, or facebook account send it to me in a personal message.

If anyone knows someone with a business who would be happy to employ someone like that, please share.

She is standing under a street sign, but the resolution makes it impossible to read.

Can someone let us know where that is?

Do you know if she goes there often, or goes to different places?

From the picture she looks well. If I saw her I'd talk to her and see what the issue is and I could get her some help. However there is also a good chance she's got some serious issues which makes someone like that difficult to help. she cold easily get in trouble though.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Resolution is good enough to read the Khmer script. Seems to start with Oknha.

I thought you were more or less fluent in Khmer?

I am very outgoing, and talk to large numbers of people. Old and young. Barang from the many different countries. A lot of Jewish people. I have spent time with Korean people. Occasionally Chinese who speak English. And others. I have many Cambodian friends, a lot of them are students.

I am amazed that other people on this forum don't seem to be as outgoing, and don't seem to be interested in finding out if she really needs help.

And comments like:

You could talk to her before coming to any conclusions.

I am not in PP, and she not be in the same place again.

I have a friend who works not far from where the woman was seen. I have asked her to keep an eye out for her, and if she sees her to talk to her and find out what she can. A Cambodian girl is not scared to talk to her.

If anyone else meets her, find out what you can.

I am not in PP either, just read out the low-res picture to you so you can do whatever you think is good.

It appears she earned enough money to travel to PP and a local gave her a dress. I believe she's the same one from the other threads that was in Kampot or SR.
Still here, in country...
