Hookup and Dating Apps in Cambodia: Swipe Right? (Matchstix)

While I was in Phnom earlier this month, I ran into a buddy who said he was just launching a new online/mobile dating app for Cambodians, in Khmer language called "Matchstix."

I still find that Badoo, Tinder and Twoo work just fine for Cambodia, but the more the merrier, I guess.

I had forgotten the name (Matchstix) until I just saw this article.

It's a GPS-enabled dating app, which is pretty much a clone of Tinder.

If any of you meet your true love on their, you owe me an invitation to your wedding.

It's already on the Google Play Store for Android phones and will soon be released on the iTunes market for iPhones.

Just as the smartphone dating app Tinder is being heralded as the death of romance in the West, a Khmer-language clone has been launched in Cambodia. But how much will cultural differences determine how it’s used?
