Help excellent Cambodian NGO up for big global prize

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Help excellent Cambodian NGO up for big global prize

Post by barrelscraper »

I know this isn't the normal kind of topic but if anyone feels like doing anything nice today... An NGO I know well called This Life Cambodia is up for an international award for its work in Cambodian communities, particularly trying to stop violence.

Not only do they do really good work but they are the only Cambodian NGO up for the award out of the 5 finalists. Actually, the only NGO in Asia.

It's a public vote and if they win they get a cash prize, recognition at a big awards ceremony in New York, and fundraising opportunities.

It takes 30 seconds and you aren't added to any mailing lists, just go to www.bit.ly/TLCvotes

Or, if you don't trust bit.ly links there's a blog on their website. http://www.thislifecambodia.org/archives/6253

7 days left to vote. Go on, its good karma.
