•Inter-ministerial agreement for the implementation and institutional arrangement on food safety management,Prakas IMP 868 (October 22, 2010) established.

•provide safe food and to address safety issues as they arise
•implement Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS);
•ensure compliance with food requirements and standards;
•alert the Ministry and Competent Authority on food safety issues
and collaborate closely with the Ministry and CA in implementing
measures to avoid or reduce risks caused by its products;
•respond quickly to food safety concerns as they arise;
•voluntary recall the food products;
•record information of its supplier and shall make it available to the Ministry and CA on demand and

Lack of consumers’ awareness on food safety

Exactly! Part of my balcony faces the back area of a khmer's family restaurant where they prep and cook food to be served up front, and was actually inspected by a 'health' official. Let's just say I would only eat there if I was starving. I'll take a pic tomorrow, it's full of garbage and rats scurry around day and night on clean dishes and cutting boards, the kids piss in the area where they wash dishes, etc. It's quite interesting watching them chop pork and chicken with an axe though!

Health and sanitation practices include ensuring every khmer has scratched there anus pre meal preperation andpost meal preperation then couched , sneezed and blown there nose within a 5 cm metre radious and has also allowed ants roaches and road dust into contact with the food for which by law must be atleast 48 hours old.

Where I lived previously the men,boys and young girls piss just next to where mum prepares food, does the dishes and clothes. Gee it must stink in that area. It's a wonder that they are not shitting there as well, or maybe i missed that.
