Do I have to leave Cambodia?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Hope you're recovering/ have recovered well. How much was the total cost and time taken again please Andy? I know youve posted this all somewhere before. I'm thinking of branching out on my own if they will accept me a a sole trader.

2 years ago in kampot I was asked for $70 at the 1 stop shop and $100 to register for tax. You also need a lease stamped by sangkat anything up to $30 is usual. Unless you are actually running a shop or restaurant that should be it. Otherwise you have various oter stuff like sign tax and tourism permits etc but doubt you will be needing that as a sole trader "IT consultant" o
Cheers for that
Edited to add. Plus mthly costs for someone to do your tax if you don't know how/where yourself. I think I have heard thst may be about $30 a month.

Can a person have a work permit as employed by another and still do the sole pty set up?

Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Get it done asap, it's not going to be cheap forever.

Expect big changes within a few months.

Why not apply for a EG. I think you will have to exit country first though and get a new Ordinary visa initially, so yes you will have to leave, but come back . Good for 6 months and multi entry. After 6 months, border run , new ordinary, and repeat...

If this works (will they check for former EB extensions?), it will only work if your current extension has expired. If you re-enter while it's still valid no new visa will be granted.

EG is a one time only deal, and will not be issued if you have previous E-type visa EOSs in your PP...but like all the visa rules, nothing is completely clear and they are constantly changing, so worth trying anyway.

Just some food for thought. Both 'Call Kim' and the agents at 'Khmer Views' are currently stating the opposite.

I am travelling and re-entering this time next month, will get an E visa and attempt to extend to a six month EG. Having 6, 12 and 3 month EBs in my passport it'll be interesting to see if they grant it. I'll report back then. Otherwise visa run time, I guess.
