Has GoT seen better days?
I don't even try and follow the plot anymore, it's getting so damn confusing.
Some of the episodes have such boring conversations, I just feel like they've run out of ideas.
Started watching The Sopranos instead.

Binge-watched the first 4 episodes of season 5. Not as good as previous seasons.

The trouble with universe building fantasy is that it spends a lot of page time setting up scenes... the books are no better in this respect than the series. I am really enjoying the latest season of GoT - mainly for the major divergences from the books... not impressed with the sample chapters from the 6th book so far... so it may fare better on TV than it does on paper in the end.

This is my initial reaction too. I don't know what it is but I just don't have that pre-episode anticipation I used to live for.StroppyChops wrote:Binge-watched the first 4 episodes of season 5. Not as good as previous seasons.
Part of the reason I think is I've just started reading book 1, Game of Thrones. I am loving the details that really enrich the experience. The book, always better of course, may be ruining the TV series.

Possibly. Season 5 of the TV series diverges widely from the text.ExPenhMan wrote:This is my initial reaction too. ^ this. Which is why I think I'm enjoying this series so much more as I don't know quite what's gonna happen next.

I don't think the producers do, either.

I'm quite enjoying this season of Tits n Dragons, but a bit upset some of the characters are missing- Strong Belwas would have been great to see and where is Lady Stoneheart? I hope she features before the series ends. <geek/>
