Was Weinstein tolerated because he never "smacked a ho?" He threatened, bluffed, huffed and probably puffed, but he was toothless, in the end. He could nominate someone to the job, but they'd have to sacrifice a bit themselves for the production, just like everyone else on the film.
Maybe he was such a progressive producer with so many (massive!) hit films with a true agent provacateur protegee director with Tarantino, they threw sometimes willing virgins his way.
