Happy 4Th of July

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

LTO, I understood your point. Show me a govt. that wants to lose a revolution. I can't envision government officers laying down their weapons. It would be a sad sad day, but one the fools brought on themselves.
There won't be a revolution. Neither side would want that, considering the potential consequences, ie the aforementioned slaughter.

OK,I disagree with you so how do you imagine the scenario playing out? How do you negotiate with armed fools who want only to replace you?

You continue to give and allow them enough of the rights and freedoms that they want so that it never comes to violence.

LTO, You're nothing short of a total idealist Try to imagine, oh lets say Hilary and Sailorman thrashing out the salient points. Nope, there'll be a bloodbath.

There may be some truth there. There will always be a few extremist idiots willing to do stupid things, but I trust the sailormans to understand and respect the potential human consequences of such a controntation better than Hillary. She already has killed thousands (or mostly foreigners) at no risk to herself.

It little matters which side fails to acquiesce or for what reason, the unhappy result will be the same.
