And it’s moments like this you realize 420 is really much more charming in concept, from afar, as a fun news item and cultural spectacle than actual enjoyable mass activity you ever want to join.

....here’s pot delivery services, pot ice cream, pot-infused beer. I have friends who swear by medicinal pot’s uncharted powers as a performance enhancer (certain strains only, of course) for running, training, even obstacle course races and endurance sports. Pot! It’s the new Adderal, bacon and muscle relaxant, all in one!

....There’s another word for how most 420 revelers looked. It’s wasn’t joyful, or celebratory, or happily aware that pot has become such a fascinating cultural touchstone.

It wasn’t defiant, or rebellious, America increasingly victorious (medical pot now legal in 23 states; federal legalization seems imminent) over some dumb anti-pot laws that kept what is essentially the mildest, least outwardly harmful drug we know from its proper place among America’s Most Favorite Happy Narcotics. Medicines. I mean medicines.

The word is miserable. That’s the look I saw most: totally, stupendously miserable. Also slightly ill. And lost.

Interesting article. It had more meaning as a day of protest, certainly, and I must admit I haven't been to a 420 festival in years. With nothing left to protest in so much of the US, it has lost a lot of meaning. The cities these festivals are held in are generally so relaxed about marijuana that you can walk down the street smoking a J any day of the year. I would like to see 420 festivals in jurisdictions with harsher marijuana penalties, as at least it would serve a function. Still, the day has historical importance and is worth recognizing.

The Add Jay first you call us losers and then you ask if one's father didn't hug one enough as a child, only to turn around and now you want to bury the hatchet.

You present your experiences and emotions as facts. At the same time you disregard actual academic research, even though you had based your entire point on a theory covered in the very same study that was later turned on your own rationale. You then insinuate that highlighting important points in the very same study as you were pulling conclusions from is in any shape or form an attempt to "justify my pot smoking".

You painted yourself in a corner of hostility and when it was given back to you then all of a sudden you are calling for truces and burying hatchets. Bravo.

Have you considered getting psychoatric attention for your borderline personality disorder? It shines through, you should have it checked. I'm getting worried for you buddy.
