Move to the middle of nowhere, with a car, a tarpaulin and whatever you can carry.
Ensure that the roads are impassable in the wet season and move there on 21 June or thereabouts.
Build a house whilst living in the mud and sleeping in the car. Drink warm beer only, as the ice truck cant make it to town.
Calories in= calories out.
I lost 20kg in 2 months.
You should try it!

Swapped my usual morning coffee full of condensed milk and sugar for a double espresso. Currently rushing my bollocks off. Feel like I've dropped a dove.

Regarding the running machine I go as fast as I can for 25 minutes. Would 40 minutes at a more gentle pace be better for fat burning? I might try and throw in 2 runs a week in the morning before work. I stopped that cos it was fucking with my Achilles’ tendons.

I am going to cut the cans of coffee and smoothies out. Reluctant to ditch the night time beer or 2 just yet but considering it.

Maybe I am being impatient as I have only been using the gym for about 5 weeks and before that I was basically horrendously out of shape as I stopped exercising about 6 years ago.

Glad to be exercising again though. I feel much better for it. Just haven’t lost any weight yet
Try incline walking. 1 degree for 4 mins, 2 degree for another 4 mins and so on until 10 degrees of incline and a 40 minute walk. It should burn off several hundred calories, in the order of 500 if the machine is to be believed. And it doesn't put excess stress on the joints that running does. Try it and see if it works for you.

Also, use an APP called My Net Diary. It's a calorie counting aid. I used it in 2017 for 3 months and lost 18KG. There was NO alcohol. I was going dry for a period of time and the weight loss plan was an afterthought. You have to weigh and measure everything but once you have all your regular foods loaded in the app you just tap on the food, the weight and it does the work for you. It is very addictive and you really get some nasty surprises about what foods are calorie rich. Each day is a little game of see how much under your budget you can go.

But be careful; there is a sweet spot of calories and weight loss; mine was 1800-1900. I went a whole week of 1500-1600 and lost 1 pound. The body didn't like it at all. With 1850 calories a day I lost 2.5 to 3lb every week. That's about 10,000 calories a week deficit, or about 1400 per day. You walking and training will give you 500 of those calories and the diet will do the rest. But you will need to train most days and keep a record of every single calorie you consume. Tt is much easier than it sounds and you will be looking forward to your weigh in day. I did it on a Monday morning. That guarantees you will behave yourself on Sundays too!

This thread has just jogged me into action (again) as I have put weight on lately and now I'm back on the app and looking forward to watching it fall off me. I know it works so have a very positive attitude for the upcoming weeks.

Try it, you wont be disappointed. Good Luck...

It's easy for me,

Just eat dodgy street food once a week, get some sort of dysentery and spend the next 4 days on the bog !!, weight drops off .

I have been going to the gym three times a week for the last 4 or 5 weeks. About an hour each time. I do 25 minutes on a running machine, then some weights and press ups and stuff. Haven't shifted a single damn kilo. Not one!

:( :x

About 10 years ago I was super fit, ripped, doing muay thai etc. I used to do this thing called Blackjack - you do 21 press ups, 1 squat thrust, then 20 press ups, 2 squat thrusts, all the way until you do 21 squat thrusts and 1 press ups. Tried it yesterday and started on a ratio of 5 press ups to 1 squat thrust etc and still practically had a heart attack when I finished.

What am I doing wrong?

My big question is,,,,,,, How do you go to the gym.

You probably missed my question so I will ask again like this . Do you get into your Lexus and drive or ride your motobike to the gym?

Nah, I bet you walk or ride a bike there so you can get the exercise.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

It's not about getting "the" exercise. It's about building muscle through resistance training and you just won't do that regardless of how much you walk.

I agree that walking is great and I'm glad that you enjoy it but just because someone doesn't walk to the gym doesn't mean they're not training legs.

As for The Seawolf, he probably should just squat more.
