Getting a numberplate

Post by Jacket »

Hey people!
So, I've had a look at a motorbike today and I was quite fond of it; however, there is a little catch. There's no numberplate on it. It's this "no tax" affair. So I'm wondering: Is there any way in which I could purchase an unregistered motorcycle for a pretty low price and then get a numberplate for it afterwards?

Don't know whether it helps, but that time I got some fake UN plates from one of these little street side repair shops for $ 5. I've never been stopped by police.

You'll pay more than it's worth to get it plated and get fleeced along the way if you're not connected. Even if you have the tax documents, you could be like me and the licensing division is giving me grief on registering a small scooter I just picked up. They say the import tax doc is "wrong" and I have to pay tax again or I get no plate.

Not worth it, just get a bike with a plate already.
