German Mother Looking For Her Missing Son in Cambodia: Steffen Krause

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. German Mother Looking For Her Missing Son in Cambodia: Steffen Krause

Post by General Mackevili »

A mother is looking for her son who went missing in Cambodia a week ago. Last she heard, he was headed to Sihanoukville...

His name is Steffen Krause and here are some pictures of him:

I guess you could tell him to contact his mom if you see him.

""MISSING!!!! I'm missing my son Steffen Krause, german citizen, who is actually travelling through Cambodia on his own. The last contact i had with him was out of Phnom Phen on last Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016. He planned travelling to Sihanoukville but meanwhile all contacts with him have stopped, all my efforts to contact him were unsucessful. Further information and pictures as well you can see on his personal facebook site Steffen Krause. If somewhone should have seen him please be so kind and contact me directly via e-mail or facebook immediately. Your help is urgently needed. Many thanks in advance for your understandings"

The guy doesn't check in for week and the mother is freaking out? Probably on Koh Rong and living the good (shower-dodging) life.

Nah !,,,, He's just doesn't have the energy to get out of bed and leave that little brown skinned nymph lying there all by herself.

Well , OK, mum does have a reason to freak out then.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Lets hope he's just having a good time, drinking too much & just lost track of time , rather than anything more sinister

Nothing wrong with a parent being concerned, if they are used to virtually daily contact etc. I suppose with the internet & mobile phones, keeping in touch with family & friends is easy compared to 30 years ago, when I travelled across Canada for 3 months, & sent my parents just a few postcards. :)

Fucking ridiculous. The guy is probably just chilling out on a beach.

yup, agree with all of the above. Nothing to worry about yet. Vacation is to get away from it all, recharge and come back ready for more. Being kept on a leach with all social media has to offer is like staying at home in the first place.
May as well sleep over at the neighbors house, and spare yourself the money for travel.
After all, one can bungie jump, surf , mountain climb, fight heroic battles and see the sights of the world online, without ever having to leave home.
Am sure the young man is doing fine.
