Gayest Thread Ever

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I would guess that numerous folks on this forum can recall the time when 'gay' meant 'happy' and 'joyous' and was a given name for women.

"When you're with the Flintstones
Have a yabba-dabba-doo time
A dabba-doo time
We'll have a gay old time"

"Deck the halls with boughs of holly
'Tis the season to be jolly
Don we now our gay apparel
Troll the ancient Christmas carol"
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
I may be going to hell in a bucket,
but at least I'm enjoying the ride.

I feel so sorry for my older sister called Gay.
Haven't seen her for forty years so I might send her a Xmas card next year.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

The teacher told my son that they would be going on a school camp in two weeks from now.

I told him that camp means gay.

Sorry. I had to do it, when i crossed this rainbow thread.
We have the same issue in French after all, orally speaking. Etre gai, etre gay. Confusing, and as a result we don't use gai (jolly) as often as before.

But we still do smoke a lot, so it might be comforting for some to imagine us holding a fag beetween our lips.

I wouldn't have, since i watched a Louis CK cut where is explained the origin of the word faggot (which is the same in French, fagot).

What i don't get is why cigarettes specifically are called fags though.
