He speaks of getting his partner a residency visa in Australia. She may be from the Philippines (just a guess) so would be earning less teaching English in Cambodia.Cambo Dear wrote: ↑Sat Jan 26, 2019 12:59 am Yeah, they are both English teachers apparently (apart from being unable to correctly spell pollution), and as such should be pulling a decent wage.

Yeah the use of the word 'escape' is hypocritical after he obviously thought it was OK to live and work in PP for 5 years. His choice.
I guess if he had more correctly just put 'Move from PP to Australia' that would have generated even less attention than the one sole $100 already collected by what seemingly looks like a family member or friend from the comments section.
What a joke! Where do they stop with these Go Fund Me pleas? This dude deserves a Darwin award.

The 309 Partner provisional visa is AUD$7,160.Barang chgout wrote:It's over 11k for a residency application, why only 5k?

Maybe they are being a little clever with the English, but the whole thing strikes me as hiding something. Starting off playing to people’s emotions about the daughter, and slipping in the small bit about the money being for a residency application.Wanker Wat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 25, 2019 11:48 pm https://www.gofundme.com/escape-from-ph ... -australia
Escape from Phnom Penh to Australia
This is Erin, our daughter. She was born in Cambodia. She is 1 year and 3 months old. Her mother Dana and I have been teaching English in Cambodia for about 5 years and we have really enjoyed it but now Erin is getting older and we have realised she deserves more than Cambodia can provide. We earn very little as teachers so we need help exiting Cambodia and heading to Australia to settle down and live happily ever after.
Erin needs safe roads, clean food and a great education. She deserves to grow up in my home country of Australia where there is very little crime or polution. Most importantly, She deserves a life where she can get to know her great grandfather, grandfather and grandmother.
Thank you so much for reading and possibly helping us. Any amount you donate is guaranteed to change our lives for the better. We are raising a little over $5000 Australian for my partner Dana’s Residency application so she can become an Australian citizen.
We want to escape within the next 6 months. Erin's grandfather is getting on in his years and we don't want to miss introducing Erin to her great grandfather. We would be very grateful for any help you can provide to make many dreams come true.
I’ve rarely paid much attention to these fund me things, but out of curiosity I took a look at some other efforts on there. I’m surprised the Nigerians have swamped it with scams.

Playing the daughter card is supposed to get sympathy. If he said he and his wife want to move to Australia, and they have a daughter, they would not get the same sympathy.
It is like the beggars carrying around babies and saying they need money for milk for the baby. It gets sympathy, and money.
