Fun night

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I've given her western diarrhea pills, gaviscon, anticel gel.
Those will only be effective if she has the runs because she drank a coke that's way too cold and upset het tummy. For anything more serious (like bad fish meat) you could have given her candies as well, just as effective.

Get her ass to the local clinic and they will put her on a drip with cipro. She will be like new in no time. She will need the the fluids from the drip too. Having the runs in Cambodia can wipe you out in 12-24 hours.

She is in miserable pain, won't let me take her to the clinic and wants to coin her stomach :(

Under-cooked beef? You have to be extremely careful with any (semi) raw meat here....

Salad might be an issue if the person preparing it doesn't apply the proper hygiene.

Might also be the ice though. The ice cubes are usually made from drinking water, but the large pieces of ice can be made of any water. Can be tap-water, well water, rainwater, or worse.

I'm Leary of Aeon mall cheap food on the top floor. I certainly would not eat tuna left on a salad bar for who knows how long.
I feel your pain I had severe food poisoning once a week for 3 weeks when I moved here. It fucking sucks.

To keep yourself out of agony and high risk for a while, stick to eating around where they cater to westerners for a bit, around riverside.

Find a gf who can cook, teach her food hygiene and eat at home (EDIT-or at Larry's).

I, we do everyday. My advice for homeboy, pun, was under my assumption he is living that bachelor lifestyle.

Edit: I've never been to Larry's, I need to check it out.

Eating a whole chili has nada to do with food poisoning, surely?

Possibly an ulcer? or just a case of too much spicy stuff being s hock to the stomach lining. We've always got Ofloxacine or Cirpafloxacine in the house, if you wake up at 3am with diarrhoea or vomiting transport can be a real challenge.

Charcoal will attach and render harmless just about any poision. You can buy tablets or a powder (not sure where, might need to import and keep some as stock). Use charcoal first, then come in with a powerful probiotic 3-4 hours later. A good brand is Jarrow (again might need to import). Repeat and up the dose as necessary.

If you clean out your stomach first with charcoal then bring in 50 billion beneficial bacteria a couple hours later, not many harmfull bugs can survive it for long. They get crowded out.

Always try the non-antibiotic route first if possible.

Actually eating a whole chili is less likely to give you food poisoning because of the capsaicin.

On the OP, though, if she's had diarrhea for multiple days you probably should get her to a local clinic for an IV bag of hydration solution.
