Frenchwoman arrested for overstay ? in Kampot.
Unusual case of visa "overstay ", where according to the information supplied on the Koon Khmer site, it appears that the immigration authorities may possibly have mistakenly stamped leave to stay in Cambodia for 3 months instead of one. [This is an assumption, which may be prove to be incorrect.]
However, starting with the assumption that French tourist, Sophie Gregoire, has been arrested for overstaying by the immigration police in Kampot, despite the fact that her visa is stamped "valid" until 23 Feburary 2017, who is in the wrong in this case?

what's a TF visa? I remember TI as tourist entry, but it's been a few years since I dealt with renewals.
Doesn't seem to specify single entry either.

Yep.
And if the visa is valid until 23 Feb, why was she arrested ?

I think that's just a standard tourist visa issued from an overseas Cambodian embassy. They give you 3 months from the date it is issued to enter the country, and after that it's valid for 30 days.CEOCambodiaNews wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2017 10:24 pm Unusual case of visa "overstay ", where according to the information supplied on the Koon Khmer site, it appears that the immigration authorities may possibly have mistakenly stamped leave to stay in Cambodia for 3 months instead of one.
Either way, they really shouldn't be hassling a sweet looking young woman like that. I'm kind of pissed off that she's getting deported actually.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

This, it is not a VOA, unfortunately she probably thought it was valid to stay in Cambodia for the dates stamped.John Bingham wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2017 12:23 amI think that's just a standard tourist visa issued from an overseas Cambodian embassy. The stamp says Nget Bunly, Consul, who's at the consulate general in Aranyaprathet. Is that the normal place to get visa on arrival when entering at Poipet?John Bingham wrote:I think that's just a standard tourist visa issued from an overseas Cambodian embassy. I got confused when I saw one of those the first time. I had to double check before I told the dude the wrong thing. It's assuming you know you can only get 30 days. If you just post it to the embassy no-one is going to tell you, either.
Re: Frenchwoman arrested for overstay ? in Kampot.
Pretty sure there was a poster here trying to tell us about getting a 3 month Tourist visa from an Embassy abroad,no matter how much everyone tried explaining to him that it didn't mean he could stay in country for 3 months, he just didn't understand or believe us.
