Siem Reap, Cambodia: Three French tourists (Rodolphe Stephane Marie Fourgeot, Vincent Henri Bocquet and Alexandre Andre Raymond VIX) have been arrested by Cambodian authorities for taking naked photos of each other inside the country's famed Angkor temple complex, officials said.

The male tourists were discovered inside the Banteay Kdei temple at the world heritage site, Chau Sun Kerya, spokeswoman for the Apsara Authority -- the government agency managing the Angkor complex told AFP.

"The temple is a worship site and their behaviour is inappropriate. They were nude," she said.

Keat Bunthan, a senior heritage police official in northwestern Siem Reap province, confirmed the nationalities of the arrested and said many Cambodians would be offended by the tourists' actions.

"Their activities affect our culture. Nobody should take nude pictures at ancient temples," he told AFP.

The Apsara Authority said in a statement that the three tourists have "admitted they really made a mistake by taking nude pictures".

The agency added Cambodian police were building a case against them.

The tourists were caught just days after a series of photos of Asian women posing nude at ancient Cambodian temples went viral online and outraged officials.

The Angkor Archaeological Park, a world heritage site, contains the remains of the different capitals of the Khmer Empire, dating from the 9th to the 15th century and is Cambodia's most popular tourist destination.

They are:

1. Vincent Henri, Male, 20 years old, French

2. Rodoiphe Fourgeot, Male, 21 years old, French

3. Alexander Andre Raymond, Male, 22 years old, French

Note Alexander Ander Raymond was not naked as he was a photographer while they were being seen taking naked pictures at the temple.

I posted this piece of info on another thread. This was my reaction, "The long blue (and sometimes olive drab or khaki) arm of the law reached out today and nabbed three foreigners suspected of the photographic travesty in SR. Now with the apprehension of these alleged perps, moral Cambodians can rest easy in the knowledge that they will never again lead their sons and especially daughters into sexual temptation or removal of underwear, except of course when they change from dry season undies to wet season ones. Now if we could just outlaw tuk tuks.

I am livid about this disrespect of a religious site by those jackasses. Those tossers should be whipped, jailed and then deported.

However, I find all the recent naked photos of Asian girls in the religious sites classy and artistic and relevant and that sort of activity should be encouraged at all times.
