It is Pol Pot, and behind him is Ta Mok. Across from Ta Mok, on the left is Nuon Chea. I'm not sure who the guy in front of Nuon Chea is, probably Hu Nim. According to Nhem En, the photographer, it's a picture of the Khmer Rouse central committee on a visit to Kampong Som in 1976.

It shouldn't be long until they extend it to Battambang and maybe Pursat, as the track there is almost ready to roll again. Will take longer to fix the stretch between Pursat and PP so I wouldn't expect the trains to arrive in PP until closer to the end of the year.John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 7:32 pm Anyway, it's only from Poipet to Sisophon, obviously just a test run for opening the old Phnom Penh > Poipet branch.
I'm not sure I'd want to get it until it's been running a few months, and most people in areas they pass through figure
out that the old railway line is not the best place to have a drunken nap or dry fish or park your vehicle anymore.

I read somewhere (possibly the Train Cambodia FB group) that they are aiming to have the line to Phnom Penh running by late Augusttimmydownawell wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 8:11 am

It's just an artifact from an old picture. You can see the same black dots to the left as welloffroadscholar wrote: ↑Sat Mar 24, 2018 8:20 amdid the guy front right just get shot in the arm ?John Bingham wrote: ↑Fri Mar 23, 2018 11:50 pmIt is Pol Pot, and behind him is Ta Mok.
