Foreigners NOT Allowed in Sihanoukville Guesthouse (Keara)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

No Khmer guesthouse owner ever turns away foreign custom due to fear they can't communicate with them. They just hand the key and say "Ten dolla."

I agree; l have stayed in hundreds, if not thousands of places that no one spoke English,
they know what you want

he just didn't want ya, so what? do u really want cause a problem cause someone does not want you there? Not like its the only place in town

It could be other reasons but the fear of not be able to communicate is one of them.

This is really odd in the middle of the down season. Maybe they've had to pay for the removal of a couple ODs already and don't want the pleasure of forking out $2,000 for another.

Foreigners have had this tendency of dying in guesthouses recently, so I can't blame them for turning any foreigner away at the moment.

Doesn't look like much of a guesthouse, but it got two good reviews(for what its worth) on trip advisor. Spend a few more dollars and try the Small Hotel. Its clean and on a quiet street downtown.

^^^^ Yup, if you want to be downtown, but for that kinda $$, I'd much rather be at Aqua Resort. Reef Resort used to be $25 off season and would be my choice if it still is.
