Foreigner (known as 'Blue') Accused of Stabbing at Hometown Hangout in Phnom Penh

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Everyone has a nickname! When you know a million guys called Dave, you have to be able to distinguish between then. I know Navy Dave, Accountant Dave, Fat Dave, Big Fat Dave, Sailor Dave, Asshole Dave, Barman Dave and so it goes on.
I think I know sailor dave and definitely asshole dave!
Blue is an ozzy name. I know of two.
Yeah we're running short on names so we've come up with DaveDave and DaveDaveDave cuts down on the confusion between Sailor Asshole Dave , Asshole Dave Sailor and Asshole Sailing Dave.
Blue sounds a bit like a dog too me

Maybe he deserves it but do you really want to get involved with a bunch of corrupt scammers who's only intetest will be getting money from you when the realize you are a barang as well? My advice is to avoid the police, it will be very expensive and there won't be a fair trial. Find a way to get justice instead.
My advice is to avoid stabbing people.
Good advice but you don't have to stab someone in Cambodia to be accused of it and do the time. You only have to be accused. Seems this case is genuine but the police won't care about that.
Is that a common occurrence? I've been here for a while now, me along with everyone I know have never been accused of stabbing anyone

what's a tefler?
in reference to Cambodia

some would say .. a backpacker who shaves

others would say .. someone who has no options

cynics would say .. someone who is desperate

a pedant would say .. a person who Teaches English as a Foreign Language;

a passionate TEFLer would say .. a dedicated professional

all are true in one way or another

Simple journalism it is. :dragonchase:

I don't follow your logic. I'd try the police and court route first, if I was the victim. If they deliver justice, fine, I don't need to get my hands dirty. If not, I still have that option anyway.

I do not know if there are more peculiar people living in PP than in pre pandemic days, or the ones here now are just more obvious post expat exodus.

It's mostly the same person under different handles. So no need to worry, just avoid the dregs of Daun Penh.
