A Foreign Lady Sits Crying at the Port in Sihanoukville
Locals took this picture on the evening of July 16 of a foreigner sitting on a bench crying, and they're not sure why.

I'm pretty sure it's the same woman, snd if so she's a sad case. We ran into her at Victory Hill a while ago - she was trying to get us to buy her some alcohol.

Because of your refusal to buy her a bottle of hooch, she sits there crying.rozzieoz wrote:I'm pretty sure it's the same woman, snd if so she's a sad case. We ran into her at Victory Hill a while ago - she was trying to get us to buy her some alcohol.

It''s not very clear from the one picture, but all those marks on her legs would indicate that she is in bad shape and has a problem with her immune system. This would generally be connected with bad-nutrition and abuse of alcohol and/or drugs. I hope she can manage to extract herself from this mess. Otherwise, on a brighter note, this has to be one of the first barang destitute women in the kingdom, so well done!

As I read this, I wondered, a little drunkenly, in what way is this 'news'? By what stretch of the imagination does this meet that 'man bites dog' test'? And you clarified it for me. Thank you.John Bingham wrote:...this has to be one of the first barang destitute women in the kingdom, so well done!

She resides at the Black Puppy on Vic Hill. Usually drunk. She gets drunk & cries and/or falls down. What can you do?

She had an empty water bottle that she was trying to get filled with some sort of alcohol.
