Foreign Couple Called Out for Living "Illegally" on Oral Mountain

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News: A Cambodian on social media has posted his concerns about a foreign couple who, according to him, is living illegally on the Oral mountain near Kampong Speu. They have been living on the hill for over a month, but they haven't reported their presence to the local authority.

According to social media, an account named Tan Kimsour posted " Don't know about the purpose of the two foreigners, which is bad or good of their living on the Oral mountain. First, they have been living on the mountain over a month already without reporting to the authority. We tried to talk to them, but no response.
What made us worried is if they have any problem who will be responsible for that. If they have a bad purpose, it will cause trouble for the local people. I don't know who I could report the information to, so please share this information."

Most expats fall into the old and sick category. Also do parents, and most relatives. That’s a lot of family that you wish dead. You, I, and everyone else will also grow old someday as well. I’d feel horrible if my child wished me dead because I was old.

As for the ex-teachers living on Kampot mountain...

Does the typical expat teacher really look like that?

What would you know about it? You don't live here and I doubt you have ever met many foreign residents so enough of your judgemental nonsense.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Looks to me, that they are taking a brake with getting back to nature, it something that very few Khmer do. I have only seen tents for sale over the past few years, but I must say I would not know were to pitch it without being pestered by someone.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
