He also has to pay Samouth for doing all the CEOCambodiaNews article translations. That can't be cheap.
Always make speculation. It actually doesn't make you look smart at all.

Please don't always tell me that everything here on forum is sarcasm or irony. My ability to understand sarcasm is nothing comparable to you, but i am not clueless about sarcasm. I think i know enough to be able to tell if it is sarcasm or not. Sometime it did discouraged me to post as i was afraid that i might make some mistakes. Anyway, it is fine to make mistake since it is not my mother tongue.phuketrichard wrote:you got to learn about sarcasm /joking if ur going to survive

I wasn't being sarcastic. Two weeks ago, everyone agreed that Raffles had taken advantage of Samouth by paying him paying him below-market wages as a waiter. Now that he's a translator, I just assumed that someone was paying him for his translation work.
I don't know what Cambodian translators charge though, I get by with pidgin Khmer bartalk.

Thanks for stopping by and made this 100 percent clear. I wasn't sure if you did meant it as Richard claimed that it was sarcasm, but i have never thought that you were being sarcastic.Cam Nivag wrote:I wasn't being sarcastic. To be honest, i think that you are actually clueless about that thread. I am sure that you didn't read it, otherwise you wouldn't make this utterly poor speculation. If you seriously read that thread, you would realize that i was fired by that hotel long time ago and got a job just 6 months right after that, at that time CEO wasn't born yet. FYI, i am not working for CEO, i am working for an international organization as a senior translator, but i just resigned for that NGO and ready for my new job in August.
My suggestion to you, before you make a speculation, you should gather information as much as you can, so that the result of your speculation would likely close to reality.

Re: A fond farewell(ish).
Oh, I thought you were doing all the excellent translations of Khmer news articles for CEO. Maybe another translator is doing that.
If, however, you are doing those translations, and not being paid, then I don't know why you and other posters demonize Raffles for exploiting you by only paying you $30 a month. At least it's more than zero.
