Not the first, no
Despite what angsta states, it’s clear from reading through his posts that angsta supports the free FreePalestine movement.

Also note these machines have no heater, so they will wash your stuff at about 25-30 degrees C.

There was one in SHV too near my place, but it was destroyed in construction frenzy.
But seriously, if I was going to do my own washing I would buy a machine. Half the point in getting washing done outside is to give local people some work. Also it's a good place to pick up street gossip.

Might start seeing more of those, but somehow I still don't think there's a big market for it. Why waste your time and money when it's still possible to pay people relatively little to wash and iron your clothes for you? Those who can't afford a washing machine or don't have the space tend to wash by hand or go to a local shop (who do it for you). Ironically enough, those who can't afford are often the ones who work 12 hour shifts or something, so don't have much time to wait around in a laundromat. Bigger market in dry-cleaning I reckon, but you never know. Some business ideas I had years ago were too early fo the their time, but have started to move now that the market has matured. I still think the timing is off for this one, but hopefully I'm wrong and wish the owners good luck.

Talking of dry-cleaning.
Are there any good services about, near Psar Chas? What’s the quality like?
I’m going to be lugging uniform back and forth, so I shall need something local when I’m in town.

Not sure if you will see more or more of them as i said the same thing about them here in Phuket,Bitte_Kein_Lexus wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 11:28 am Might start seeing more of those, but somehow I still don't think there's a big market for it. Just in kamala there about 10 places that offer the machines, ( there not in closed shops but usually in like car ports outside someones house, 4-5 machines for 6 (30 baht), 8, (40 baht), 10 (50 baht) kilo loads), but thats only wash as no dryers or ironing stations
Still plenty of places that do ur laundry for ya as well at 50 baht/kilo
Note; something that also runs along same lines that has just become popular, is places that offer self cleaning your bikes (the high pressure set ups with soap as well) Usually 3-4 machines on the side of someones building under cover..
We also have machines that you fill ur water bottles up, ( 1 baht/Lt) ones to top up ur sim and self service gasoline pumps
So, if is successful in Thailand...will it work in Cambodia?
In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: not necessarily to win, but mainly to keep from losing completely. HST

I remember it as an overpriced shithole, but they were the first laundromat I remember here.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sun Jun 30, 2019 8:08 am 2009, St 130, Vicious Cycle - good bikes, good tours, good coffee and great laundry
