First CEO shindig!

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Who wants to spend a lot of time typing posts just to have them deleted without explanation? I don't. I'm sick of it. I don't want to have to agree with the mod or his buddies just to be able to post on a forum.

... basically a "buddy mod". He moderates in favour of his buddies. He will delete posts that are not breaking any rules just because he doesn't like the content or because he thinks the posts could be offensive to his buddies. Then he will let his buddies break the rules without touching their posts.
Very well said. That post is perfectly fine. It's your opinion and it's well worded without trying to be nasty, but your point is clear.

And I actually have to agree with you on this, 100%.

But, but, it's so much easier to just DELETE posts rather than EDIT OUT the specific parts you don't want, leaving a note on the THREAD as to why it has to edited, and then having to possibly send more PM's to the the user explaining it all over again.

HOWEVER, those are all things we're willing to do over here on CEO in order to run this forum professionally and transparently. :good:

We wouldn't have started this site if we weren't going to also be willing to spend time run it correctly.

And no, you definitely don't have to agree with any admin, moderators or any friends associated with them to post here.

We will b fair. I even said on another thread, "If we can say it, you can say it. If you can't say it, we can't say it."

That's about as fair as it gets, really.

"Buddy mod." A good way to put it, LoL.

That definitely goes on there. We won't have that here.

This site is NOT set up for only our friends, it's for everyone.

And if you see something that you think is unfair, point it out to us and we will be happy to deal with it.

We really are trying to create a whole new forum with a fun and crazy atmosphere, but without the negativity that turn people away.

As always, thanks to everyone for all the feedback and help we've received! !
