I see a lot of people are back running their stalls. The lucky ones who still have stalls i suppose.

From what I have been at work is that the few regulation the government does have 1 of them is that if an old structure was burnt down you must build a modern building.

There are a plethora of laws and regulations here. Enforcement is just a little bit hit and miss however.

Means code compliant! We get work! But what's the Cambodian codes? I've never heard of CFPA here. The Add Jay wrote:From what I have been at work is that the few regulation the government does have 1 of them is that if an old structure was burnt down you must build a modern building.

So much for the theorie that the fire was started in the "middle of the market". It's very close to the street which actually made it easier to put.

The affected area is mostly cleaned up, and they have already started preparations for rebuilding it. Heaps of (new) metal poles laying around and quite the activity over there.
Yesterday there was some kind of meeting at the market with the affected sellers, and they burst into applause several times. I would love to know what was being said there, if anyone knows. Anyway, with the current reconstruction and the applause it seems like it was good news.
Hoping to see the market back to normal in a few weeks
