Fire at Old Market/Psar Chas in Phnom Penh (vids + pics)

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I remember when they said the same thing about the Phsar Leu fire in Sihanoukville.

Dont piss on my leg and tell me its raining buddy.

Yes many hazards. But the allegations I present far outweigh a simple...cigarette in pile of scraps. The fire to me looks dead center of market...now Im assuming judging the pictures, I could be wrong.

Go back into history...this has been done COUNTLESS times before in this country. I wont go as far back as 1400...but ya get the idea.

If you are a self appointed expert in fire protection it should within you abilities to review all possible scenarios and on the balance of possibilities quickly establish that both the situations being discussed here are plausible. Did myself or any of the other contributors suggest that arson should be discounted? We simply suggested with valid reasons that a fire of this nature is not improbable without the developers being involved. What sort of professional would base their conclusion on the evidence of it happened before. Do you think that all ships must sink because they hit icebergs and you saw it happen in a movie? I am well aware shit happens here but I am not so blinkered to assume that no other possibility exists.
And why would a deliberate fire need to be started dead centre. Is spread going to be equivalent in all directions? Would other factors not affect the rate and direction of spread. Come on give us you expert analysis of this.......
I feel quite concerned that given your claimed credentials, which I strongly doubt, your arguments are so narrow and lacking genuine analysis. You present not a scrap of evidence or analysis only hearsay. If people rely on 'professional advice' from the likes of you no wonder some things are a fucking mess.
I don't normally resort to insult but in your case I will make an exception. You are a complete cock jockey.

I'm pretty sure that in a case like this, he or anyone with any authority is not allowed to discuss the details of an ongoing criminal investigation.

You forgot to answer the slightly technical question I put to you. I suspect the reason is because you haven't got a clue.
I have worked in risk control and fire management in oil and gas installations around the world and have significant knowledge. I guess you fire protection expertise you allude to is selling cheap knock off chinese fire extinguishers to anybody who will pay a few dollars for them.
Could you also provide you expect opinion of the fire simulation models another poster discussed.

Whereas my avatar is my actual picture. As I have no issue on anonymity. But good theory. :hattip:
