So I'm finally here in the "Kingdom Of Wonder" (Drink Spiked and Robbed Already)
So I'm finally here in the "Kingdom Of Wonder" (Drink Spiked and Robbed Already)
After a long haul trip I was so happy to be back and ready to enjoy my life as a "Snowbird"<<this is a term us Canadians use>> we stay home for the warmer months then we jet to warmer locales to evade winter. I arrived on November 6, 2015 I had been here less than 7hrs and in that time not only did someone spike my beer and subsequently rob me of $500 usd whilst I was in one hell of a stupor trying to make it back to my guesthouse but to top it off as if that wasn't bad enough a child no older than 10 or 12 threatened to kill me because I wouldn't buy a string bracelet from him he even went so far as to brandish a knife the little criminal also told me he was going to get his BOSS to kill me if they saw me on the Riverside promenade. Call me a pussy if you wish but I'm genuinely scared because I don't know where it'll come from or from whom and all this took place in broad daylight in full view of a bar full of patrons at the Mekong River "open 24hr" establishment. If that kid actually decides to make a move on me I swear to god I'm going to lay him out with prejudice I don't give a fuck. Another entry in to my "Tales from Cambodia" Now I'm off to shop for appropriate weapons...NOT a gun however! I've been here many times and have never experienced anything but warm, friendly hospitable people but holy shit man this incident has me really freaked out, I'm truely scared.

Haha, I think you'll be just fine. If I had a dollar for every time some little dipshit threatened to kill me because I told him to fuck off with whatever he was selling, well, I'd be able to bar fine every single staff member on street 104 three nights in a row, probably.Bhodi wrote:After a long haul trip I was so happy to be back and ready to enjoy my life as a "Snowbird"<<this is a term us Canadians use>> we stay home for the warmer months then we jet to warmer locales to evade winter. As for the street kid, he probably has a long list of barang to "kill", he was probably high and doesn't remember much anyway, and we all look alike, so ... and welcome to the KOW!

After the little criminal threatened me I kept a weary eye on him as he approached other tables when he was a fair distance from me I asked one of the staff if these kids were serious it was the only time I had my eyes off my beer I can only assume he saw this and made a b- line for my beer while my back was turned and put something in my beer which after having consumed left me totally fucked up "ALL THIS TOOK PLACE AT THE "MEKONG RIVER open 24hr establishment" then I was followed and subsequently robbed while I was barely concious. Be very careful at that Mekong River establishment

Totally surprised at that I would have put money on Walkabout, GSM or maybe Pontoon to get a spiked drink but not Riverside! The only time I visit riverside is on my way home from shopping and that's for the odd beer in the afternoon, generally at the Deja Vous. Never been bothered with kids there as the staff usually keep them out. Anyway good to be aware of the scam.Bhodi wrote:After the little criminal threatened me I kept a weary eye on him as he approached other tables when he was a fair distance from me I asked one of the staff if these kids were serious it was the only time I had my eyes off my beer I can only assume he saw this and made a b- line for my beer while my back was turned and put something in my beer which after having consumed left me totally fucked up "ALL THIS TOOK PLACE AT THE "MEKONG RIVER open 24hr establishment" then I was followed and subsequently robbed while I was barely concious. Was staying in SihanChooksville one time and had company back to my room. Went for a shower and heard the "clunk" of my in room safe door being tried. Left the shower running and tippy toed out to find the sweet princess with her hands on the safe trying to open it.
