Filipino Couple Get Robbed on Tuk-Tuk; Track Down iPhone in House Near Airport with 'Find My Phone'

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Never seen and never heard what you are talking about.
Kow is perfect and tourists are increasing.
We are so lucky to live in the best country in the world <3

By the way, a filipino with a $1500 phone and not caring about it must still have enough money to buy a new one :-)
How was that rock you used to live under? Comfy?
Best country in the world?? πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ Yea sure. You must be sarcastic otherwise you're a very special kind of mentally challenged individual.

Now let's all blame the Filipino dude for getting robbed.

Worked for me twice. Once when I lost my phone on a jungle trek, and when my phone was lifted from an office desk.

:beer2:
Sorry late.. Was a bit caught up.

The 2 battalions :beer3: are expensive (at $10 per day per man for lieutenant and below)

The actual situation is

1) if a tourist - go to the tourist police who will then track down
2) if more resident go to your nearest police post who will then take you to the location and coordinate with the local cops.

(This is Porsenchey so the boys are at the junction of 2004 and 110)

It will take a lieutenant and a subordinate.

If the signal is up to date they will obtain the warrant and the manpower to search the premises

Is around 30$ for the guys to accompany and 50$ if a success

That is the correct way.. :thumb:

I am the weak link. The boys are solid. Some cops are no good. Some military are no good. Our guys do not associate with them.

Here is my best friend at the recent building collapse with a few of the team.

I'm happy when people encourage and not disparage the boys.

Complain about the corruption and crime
then sign right up with the law breaking cops when the going gets tough.
Coz it's the easiest and cheapest way out.
Hey, and who really gives a flock about breaking the law
Where not taking cheap shots at meth heads and shoplifters on CEO here. This is real life.

Then leave the station all smiles and bon homme with your new best mates
-makes them feel all righteous and noble.
And you? well you're in with the angels now...

Angels

I'm just on the side with the most weapons and power, and who can actually help.

Best police force money can buy as they say :beer2:

Seriously though - they are just ordinary people with a difficult job that pays less than a garment worker.

They are great out at the beer gardens and KTV and they pay their way.

During the day they do their work... Papers are full of successes.

Even the Chinky Gangsters are leaving. Too hot for them!

I have relations/friends in a certain military branch. I rarely deal with them anymore. To be fair, they would never help you if they thought you were in the wrong, and they didn't like getting involved in disputes between foreigners. I've never asked them for any help as I always behave myself. Some of them are ostensibly lovely friendly guys who I also know can be extremely nasty. The problem has always been that the goons you are rolling with are not always as big as the goons you might encounter.
In a simple case like this of theft I would have no compulsions about getting some police to go check it out. The problem is that it was probably sold since and could be anywhere by now.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

That is the correct way JB.. Exactly correct.. If I break the law I would lose my friends, no exceptions no excuses.

About the poor guy who lost his phone the police WILL retrieve it if he can get an accurate signal, AND provided he is polite and patient with them while they do for him.
