Family Looking for Australian Expat MARTIN MCINTYRE Who Went Missing in Cambodia 3 Days Ago

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

They’ve not once tried to contact me.

I’m still waiting.
Did you check on them to see if the world had ended? The next apocalyptic prediction is that Jesus will return on 9th June, 2019. It's a Sunday and you've got all the time in the world to make that call.

Screw what happened. Call them while you still can...
No credit.

That's a good point, but this guy is kind of elderly looking though, which begins to peg the 'troubling' meter a bit sooner.

But for younger MIA's I agree.

You had a very funny response years ago about how things were different before social media. I'm paraphrasing but it was something like, "If we disappeared for a few weeks whilst traveling and didn't contact our mothers, they'd just have to live with it. But now if we don't post status updates on Facebook after a day or two, mom's start contacting the FBI."

I miss the old Cam Nivag. He had a sharp, acerbic, lightning fast sardonic wit, he did.

You really have an unjustly inflated sense of your own importance if you really think the family is going to respond to your odd questions about how they knew this or that...which is of absolutely no value in working towards achieving their primary task which is locating their loved one.

I leave my laptop all the time with my girlfriend while traveling around the region.
Wonder if that is really a newsworthy story for this forum that an adult hasn't called his family for a week. More like stupid facebook crap.

This person has now been found.

This was a mature gentleman whose disappearance was entirely out of character and a cause of great concern to his family and friends.

It appears he fell very ill and became very confused. Hence the unusual behavior.

He was only found because his family reported him missing and locals/expats who saw the reports contacted the family.

His family have gone to assist him.
