Exploitation of Khmer staff
Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
This is a strange onepotty wrote:perhaps OD can make clear, as in a virtual interview here, what he will say if anyone asks him, why they should take HIM (without certs or stuff) and NOT the Chicago/Maryland/Wisconsin-Uni guy with one 3-year-permanent web-development-job under his belt...
So just to make it clear, you are asking OD to explained why he choose to take a permanent job in the U.S over freelance one in Cambodia ?
I know that not really the question cited but that basically the underlying question throught the post.
Concerning his job qualification that out of subject, if he is sure enough of himself to make the trip and the arrangement to live in the U.S that the position is secure enough.
How can you critize this and find nothing to say to a youngster who came to teach english knowing that after 10 year of this activity he will have zero saving and be virtually unemployable with his skillset on his own country.
What is the value of a bar in PP ? menaning if you invest in opening one what will you be left with if you decide to sell it and to go back ?
Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
I didn't criticize him...
perhaps except for leaving the country without a signed contract, well...
I was asking why he thinks he is of $120k market value.

Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
A proven track record of over a decade of employment in software development (not 'just' web development) including several known and reputable companies with a strong focus on full stack/self architected solutions. 2 citations in developer publications for innovative development solutions. A proven ability to absorb and adapt to new technologies rapidly. 5 years experience in team mentoring/leadership roles. Solid working knowledge of most common programming/markup languages for executables and web, with expert knowledge of the languages primarily applicable to the jobs I apply for.potty wrote:perhaps OD can make clear, as in a virtual interview here, what he will say if anyone asks him, why they should take HIM (without certs or stuff) and NOT the Chicago/Maryland/Wisconsin-Uni guy with one 3-year-permanent web-development-job under his belt...
The list goes on really.
Oh, and one of your earlier comments... I never interview with HR. It's always either another Sr. Developer (the team manager) or a company executive. Usually both.

Old solitary people are so mean.....potty wrote:OMGGG!! apologies... !!!
its of course perfectly correct, that nobody asks why OD thinks he is of $120,000 market value, as he claims... in your ...err... $120.00 threat...
ok, back to you paying so much to Khmer stuff..
Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
I would ask, what were the issues, that you haven't gotten the jobs yet, but the stroppy's don't like that.
Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
Could we please focus on the subject.
OD : what is your opinion of having the rift on the new game center. The op of the thread in the tech zone badly need some advice on this one.

Well here you go out of the realm of the technical discusion of OD qualification to enter the domain of personal life and gossiping.potty wrote:I would ask, what were the issues, that you haven't gotten the jobs yet, but the stroppy's don't like that.

Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
What issues? I told you I've already had a 100k offer in LA, however I moved from LA to here for family reasons so couldn't take it. More of your reading comprehension failures? I arrived here in StL 1 week before Christmas, and people in charge of interviews/etc get holidays too... as well as using up their left over vacation time/etc. Next week I'll be doing some interviews, and will likely be into a job within a week of that... though I wouldn't be surprised at an on the spot offer or two, they've happened in the past (including that 85k job I left to move to Cambodia).potty wrote:I would ask, what were the issues, that you haven't gotten the jobs yet, but the stroppy's don't like that.
I spent a lot of time right after I got back here just traveling around and visiting people I hadn't seen in a couple of years... as one is inclined to do after so much time away.
Re: Exploitation of Khmer staff
