I'm not sure how long this guy continued with his misguided attempt at clearing bikes from the footpath, but I'd suggest it wouldn't have been too long before someone took offense. It's my experience expat vigilantism rarely ends well.

I guess we haven't got round to an embedding media fix yet.

That would be one more reason I would not go there! Pissed me off in HCMC with twats riding straight in my path on sidewalks, hooting me out of the way from behind. And it Happens in Monivong some times and places. I never give way but agree it's the wrong way to go being a self law enforcer. But where are the useless cops who should be doing just that?

seems unnecessary, they are travelling at exactly the same speed as the traffic on the road.
Although the only reason it doesn't happen more in Phnom Penh is that there aren't any footpaths

Does a foreigner get compensated if he gets run over by a local?

No, the foreigner's family will be asked for compensation. If he hadn't come to the country, the accident wouldn't have happened.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 6:22 am Does a foreigner get compensated if he gets run over by a local?

Much to the.guy's credit, he does seem fluent in the local language and appears firm, but not hysterical. The only city I know of where bike lanes were respected was Berlin and that was over. 40 years ago.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

Yes. The driver will stop, then reverse, and then run over him or her again until they are sure the foreigner is dead. All free of charge.newkidontheblock wrote: ↑Fri Oct 12, 2018 6:22 am Does a foreigner get compensated if he gets run over by a local?

Not sure if I should applaud him or give him an insurance broker's number
