Everything's Amazing + Nobody's Happy

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

So true. There's a huge sense of entitlement tbh. I often think how much nicer it would be if the world was knocked back to the stone age. Trouble is, the simplicity of the world would be matched by the brutality.

How about the threat of Communism?

Bring that back, the world was safer and technology advanced faster then than Religious nuts now. Or not.

they're not happy because they're victim of the consumerism ideology.

once they bought the latest trendy shit and once they tried any position in the kamasutra and ate any possible food in restaurants and drove nice cars and holidays in famous places, what the fuck is left to do ?

capitalism and consumerism don't provide any "meaning" to life apart the mantra "work/consume/die".

as for entitlement, that's particularly visible in women.
since they're receiving lots of male attention everyday they end up believing they belong to a higher league.
problem is, all these men just want to fuck them, not to commit, and this results in a shock when the woman hits 30-35 yrs and suddenly she realizes she can still fuck but she'll never find a husband or somebody willing to invest in a committed long time relationship.

both modern women and men basically "had it all" and they end up reaching the point where they see no benefits in settling down and no benefits in their consumistic and shopaholic lifestyle.

we can all see western women in their 30s and 40s joining yoga classes or embracing some BS cults, they've no idea where to head next.
