Very interesting!!! I just liked your page, but how about 28th? Everyone can join it?
Which Saturday ? Tomorrow( 13th)? Or another Saturday? Tomorrow I'm going to take English exam. I still have gloves that my friend gave me last time when we picked up rubbish few months ago.
I would like to know more information.

Eco Sense is a trademark of Dow Chemical Co. Would you care to explain your relation to them ?
Thank you.

Thanks for this great initiative. I am always looking for something like this. Actually my friends and I, we were planning to pick up trashes along the riverside, but we all kept busy. So we didn't manage to do what we planned. This time for sure, I will call my friends to join the cause. :)

I saw a group of about 10 school kids this morning holding up banners and casually picking up trash along my street. I'm all for raising awareness, but this seems like a waste of time and effort.

Dow Chemicals hoisted with its own petard
October 28, 2012 by thanhniennews

Yes Men deliver a resounding 'no' to greenwashing at Earth Day event A Dow Chemical public relations stunt aiming to remake the company's image as an environmentally conscientious firm backfired badly last weekend. The much publicized "Live Earth: Run For Water" event, which the company billed as "the largest solutions-based initiative aimed at solving the global water crisis in history," turned into a fiasco with a group of determined and creative activists exposing its hollow pretensions. "Dow has chosen Earth Day weekend to try to promote the idea that it is a company that is concerned about the environment and access to clean water, when in reality, nothing is further from the truth. This is a company that has taken zero responsibility for the legacy of suffering that it has left in Vietnam, in Bhopal, India…, here in the US, the company has plenty to account for in terms of its past and current toxic crimes," one activist wearing a skull mask told the Huffington … [Read more...] http://www.vietnambreakingnews.com/tag/ ... your-mess/

Avoiding their responsibilities

As survivors mark the 30th anniversary of the Bhopal gas disaster, shareholders in the US-based chemical company held liable by the Indian courts say justice must finally be done. For three decades, campaign groups have been demanding that the Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) and parent company Dow Chemical be brought to justice for what is the worst industrial disaster in history. http://www.equaltimes.org/bhopal-at-30- ... XvILUaXrF4

“This evidence demonstrates that Union Carbide was intimately involved in every aspect of designing and building the Bhopal plant, including the waste disposal systems that caused the pollution,” said Rick Herz, counsel for the plaintiffs and Litigation Coordinator for EarthRights International. Co-counsel Rajan Sharma, of the New York law firm Sharma & Deyoung, added, “These families have been living with Union Carbide pollution for decades and they deserve justice. Union Carbide refuses to submit to the jurisdiction of India’s courts and asserts that American courts may not grant relief without the participation of the Indian government.” http://www.ethicalconsumer.org/corporat ... aster.aspx

Vietnam War: napalm and Agent Orange

The United States military dropped napalm bombs on North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. Dow was one of several manufacturers who began producing the napalm B compound under government contract from 1965. After experiencing protests and negative publicity, the other suppliers discontinued manufacturing the product, leaving Dow as the sole provider. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Chemical_Company

Chemical companies, US authorities knew dangers of Agent Orange
Jon DillinghamAugust 10, 2009
Those responsible for exposing Vietnamese citizens and US troops to toxic defoliants kept silent about known health implications, a review of documents finds.
In the latest case of US veterans trying to sue Dow and Monsanto for their cancers related to Agent Orange exposure, Supreme Court Documents related to a petition for a Writ of Certiorari in Daniel Raymond Stephenson, et al., petitioners, v. Dow Chemical Company, Monsanto Company, et al., respondents, further implicates the companies in cover-ups and misinformation.
The petitioners state that the companies knew their dioxins, such as those used in Agent Orange, were harmful and lied about it while concealing information, including the fact that several factory workers had fallen sick after exposure to dioxin.

DBCP

Until the late 1970s, Dow produced DBCP (1,2-dibromo-3-chloropropane), a soil fumigant, and nematicide, sold under the names the Nemagon and Fumazone. Plantation workers who became sterile or were stricken with other maladies subsequently sued both Dow and Dole in Latin American courts, alleging that their ailments were caused by DBCP exposure. While the courts agreed with the workers and awarded them over $600 million in damages, they have been unable to collect any payment from the companies. A group of workers then sued in the United States, and, on November 5, 2007, a Los Angeles jury awarded them $3.2 million. Dole and Dow vowed to appeal the decision.[26] On April 23, 2009 a Los Angeles judge threw out two cases against Dole and Dow due to fraud and extortion by lawyers in Nicaragua recruiting fraudulent plaintiffs to make claims against the company.[27] The ruling casts doubt on $2 billion in judgments in similar lawsuits.[28] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dow_Chemical_Company

Maybe Dow can team up with Exide, clean up the riverside and fuck up the rest of the country.

Samouth, warn your friends about the PR garbage, that's what really needs cleaning up.
