Entering Cambodia and the Customs Decleration Form

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Post by kerberus »

If i want to leave something in cambodia as present..does i have to declare it? How much they will charge me?

Just write personal effects and keep your mouth shut

I have arrived numerous times in Cambodia and never filled in the customs form except this one time when there was a zealous officer who demanded the form be filled in. They do not care about the forms. One time I had no less than 10 pieces of luggage. Still did not fill in the form. Only the arrival card is important.

Nothing to declare, give the form to the nice lady at the gate. Leave.

As above, with one caveat, based on my recent arrivals experiences,

If you are Chinese, arriving with a deluge of 300+ other bellowing Chinese with god only knows how many bits of crap per person, you may be looked at more closely. They seem to be grabbing several in a row and x-raying their ‘parcels’. However, 1 x-ray machine, 2-3 operators, and the uncooperative invading hoard means slow, with a capital oh!

If you aren’t Chinese, simply fill in nothing to declare, and shuffle on.
