Electronic Music DJ's

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Electronic Music DJ's

Post by amatuertrader »

Of course everyone will agree that club DJ's that bounce around turning dummy knobs and act like they are actually controlling the tunes is full on bullshit.
It has been going on for years but it is still popular.
I just don't get it, I just find it extremely annoying, especially when they start doing that "put your hands up" bullshit or start blowing that "boat in distress" air horn.

I have walked out of clubs many times and left saying, "THIS SUCKS" but has had no effect, the nightmare continues.

Is there any way we can stop that? Or am I just too old now and time to stay home?

Both.

I myself hate the knob tweaking nonsense. Just let the music play.

The core of what's needed is decent tunes. Find a place that does good tunes. (Not so easy in Cambodia)

I'm not sure you're too old, but when you hit 21, it's probably time to call it a day.

Ha ha, when I was 21 you really had to know your desk to be a proper DJ. Nowadays, even holding on to a steering wheel seems pretentious at times.

If you are over 30 and still frequenting night clubs it's time to have a talk with the mirror son

Now that I see a few people share my thinking I am more comfortable sharing my true feelings.

What the fuck are those cunts thinking when they tell me to put my hands up in the air and jump up and down at 1am in the morning? I'm drunk and trying to have a good time, I'm not their goddamn monkey on a stick.
And that mother fucking goddamn annoying air horn, what do they do that shit for?
That's the last thing a guy on a nice buzz wants to hear at 1 am!
And those goddamn laser strobe lights that shine right in your goddamn eyes.
And those filthy restrooms with piss and shit everywhere.
Top the night off with over priced drinks and dirty sluts you can't trust.

Ah, living the dream!

It pays shitloads of money if you get the hang of it, and so beats being a UX designer or attorney, for a lot of folks. Bit of L'oreal hair color and a pair of hand weights will keep most people going way up in their 40's - 50's.

You wouldn't find Extrawelt using air horns and making a mockery of minimal ...
