Eclipse happening right now!
Re: RE: Re: Eclipse happening right now!
Damn, you are making me look really bad now. It seems like i am eager to meet you. It is okay, i am just kidding. BTW, if i have time i will write up what i discussed with little salary. It might be interesting to know what local believe in solar eclipse.juansweetpotato wrote:Did you watch the video? It's a great song.Samouth wrote:buy me a long island iced tea. I will explain you.juansweetpotato wrote:Believe in what?prahkeitouj wrote:it is old but still believe in it.Samouth wrote:Saw it almost on every news outlets about this. BTW, if your wife is pregnant, if you need to wake her up right now.
This?
Sure, but I don't generally meet posters. Perhaps when the General gets back.
@admin BTW the youtube vid isn't showing up. Perhaps it's just my end?

Yes, it is such a long thing to explain. You should offer some cocktail for Samouth.

This newspaper clip from 1972 reveals some of this thing which takes a long time to explain:
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Re: Eclipse happening right now!
^^ That's an interesting one.
As the story apparently takes a long time to explain, I decided to ask my wife about Solar Eclipses and pregnancy:
Mrs UT: When an eclipse happens, pregnant women have to gather up the front of their skirts and fill it with dirt (or stones), then walk around the village or neighborhood.
Me: And if they don't?
Mrs UT: Then the baby might be born retarded or crazy.
Me: I see. But why do they do this?
Mrs UT: I dunno, it's just one of those things that Khmers do.
Me: So, do people actually do this?
Mrs UT: Sure! My sister did it today (she's 5 months gone), and so did . . . .
THE END
Cultural Note:
These are the same people that believed that eating a Mung Bean dessert at midnight on May 7th 2003 would immunize them against SARS .

It says gongs are usually rung during peacetime. Since it wasn't peacetime they just blasted away instead.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
