Eating dog meat in Cambodia

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

If it tastes really good and a bit expensive its probably dog. However if it's still alive don't eat it.

Sorry I misunderstood the post at first! I thought it was referring to eating caned dog food like "Pal or Chum"
It is actually about eating "Lassie or Fido". To be fair the meat is a little sweet for my taste. Seriously I have tried a few times thinking how the cooks here like to add sugar, but no its sweet.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

It's very difficult, there are hundreds of cunning, pig-tailed Chinese restaurant staff who will slip dogmeat into your pork and rice in between slurps of bird's nest soup...

Seriously, no one will serve it to you unless you ask for it, it's more expensive than most other types of meat.
Jesus loves you...Mexico is great, right? ;)

You know, you really shouldn't anonymise posts to protect stupid cunts like that - unless someone else did the scribbling out first and you don't know who this spastic is. They posted on a public forum and deserve all the ridicule that gets heaped upon them. :plus1:

Lots of annoying bones in dog stew, not really worth bothering with. I was assured that they are specially bred for eating and not just pets swiped off the street. You generally have to ask for the special to get it, takes quite a while to cook to make it edible

I've got at least 4, and at a push 7 or 8 dog meat related anecdotes, none of which I can be bothered to share right now.

People with unruly (badly trained) dogs often sell them for meat, especially if they bite someone in the neighborhood.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I had footage from a dog meat restaurant in Phnom Penh, then my house got burgled and I lost my camera.
