Dreaded, Jasmine-Pants Wearing Backpacker in Siem Reap Shows Just How Stupid He Is
Taken from a Facebook page called "Confessions of a Backpacker":
Cambodia
I was staying in Mad Monkey in Siem Reap and I was with an American girl, an Indian girl and a guy from Canada. We had all been out the night before and I was found passed out on a bench on Pub Street. When I woke I decided the only rational thing to do would be to see the sunset at Angkor Wat, where Chinese tourists snapped picture after picture, giggling at this raving lunatic. The morning after we decided to have a chilled out day and go to a crocodile farm. I had no idea what would it be like but soon enough I found out that the whole attraction was feeding live animals to a big pit of hungry crocs. The Indian girl was the only one ballsy and crazy enough to have a go and she paid 10 dollars for a live chicken and no bother to her, she fucked the poor thing in. Its wings were clipped so it had no chance and was eaten up straight away. When we were leaving I was literally traumatised and I wasn't alone with the exception of course, of India's equivalent to Sarah Palin. When leaving, I took one last look and saw a small duck in a cage. He knew his fate because he had just seen his other buddy snapped up. We were all saying how we'd love to free him and how great it would be if he escaped. I decided the time for talking was over. We all chipped in and I tried explaining to the Cambodian woman with no English that I wanted to take him away and not feed him into the crocs. In the mean-time some American guy came over saying he wanted the duck too to give to the crocodiles. I literally turned around and screamed "THAT'S MY FUCKING DUCK!" So after putting the duck into a bag we headed towards the nearest river about twenty minutes away. With my hippy pants on and newly grown locks flowing in the wind, we released Fred into the wild. He was the happiest duck in all the world, much to bemusement of the locals
Those 24 hours were so unbelievably unique. Only when travelling could you experience such memories and moments. You make friends for life and leave a tiny, teeny mark on the world around you. Often people are cynical about the life and times of a backpacker but sitting here in the cold of winter, typing this, all I want to do is re-join those many friends I made on the road and make some more laugh out loud, tear jerking stories. (And save some more Ducks!!!!)
And the first comment:

What kind of sick bastard takes food out of a crocodile's mouth?
Those hungry hungry crocos had to wait hours for the next delivery.

Scarier than malaria.

Yea, that's a ducking unbelievable story.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

I went to a crocodile farm in Battambang. Missed the feeding by a few minutes. The lady was kind enough to at least offer us a stick to poke then with. Unsurprisingly my Cambodian friend took her up on the offer. I couldn't help but video it. Also unsurprisingly, I guess.
